Please read this communication in entirety: At 5:00 p.m. this afternoon, Governor Andy Beshear issued a strong request that all schools in the state of Kentucky close effective Monday, March 16th for a period of two weeks. In concert with local health officials, Calloway County Schools will comply with this request. It is extremely important, as the governor emphasized, that all students are expected to be in attendance tomorrow, March 13th, so that they can receive instruction on how to complete school work in a non-traditional school setting. Calloway County Schools will be using, for the first time, Non-traditional Instructional days to allow students to learn at home. Please assist us in this process by sending your children to school tomorrow with a contact phone number for each household, as well as an active email that may be used to communicate with students and parents if needed. I know that many have already submitted this information, but it is extremely important that each teacher has accurate information for each student, especially at the elementary and pre-school level. Again, I will continue to update parents with information as it becomes available and you should monitor social media, the Calloway County School Web-site, and email for continued updates.
Tres Settle, Superintendent
Calloway County Schools
