East Elementary Academic Team Shines in Regional Competition

East Calloway Elementary School's Academic Team finished fifth overall in the 2026 KAAC Regional Governor's Cup competition held in Paducah on February 28th.

Layla Koebbe was first place overall and regional champion in Composition.  The Future Problem Solving team finished second overall with members Nola Sykes, Roscoe Young, Knox Lowery, and Della Davenport. Ava Milby and Jaymie Fiske finished tied for sixth place in Composition.  Ava Akers took fourth place in Arts and Humanities, and Knox Lowery finished sixth in Social Studies.

The Quick Recall team finished fifth with team members Layla Koebbe, Nola Sykes, Ava Akers, Knox Lowery, Roscoe Young, Greyson Browning, Aubrey Esmond, and Carter Stewart.
