East 5th Grader Layla Koebbe is County Winner of AARP Grandparents Essay Contest

East Calloway Elementary School fifth grader Layla Koebbe was the Calloway County winner of the KY AARP Grandparents Essay contest. Layla’s essay focused on her grandmother, Beth Ott, who runs a wildlife rehabilitation center.

The essay now moves on to district competition in the statewide essay contest. The event is sponsored locally by the Calloway County Retired Teachers Association.
