Ryan Rogers is the March Laker Champion for Kids

Calloway County Schools have named Ryan Rogers as the March Laker Champion for Kids. Rogers is a driver trainer, route specialist, and bus driver for the Calloway County Schools transportation department.
The Laker Champion for Kids is awarded each month to a Laker staff member who goes above and beyond for students and colleagues.
Rogers was nominated by the award by Stacey Galloway, a financial assistant at North Calloway Elementary School.
“He goes above and beyond every day ensuring children are safely delivered to their destinations," Galloway wrote. "He is instrumental in assisting with the creation of routes, meeting with parents to properly assign the correct bus for their child and doing all this with a positive attitude and a smile on his face. He is a true difference maker who cares about our children and their safety. It was very noticeable the first days of this school year with him generously offering his assistance to fellow co-workers. We at North Elementary are so fortunate to have him as a vital member of our family. He is a true example of a Laker for Life.”
Director of Transportation Matt Turner is also thankful for Rogers's efforts.
“He is an instrumental part of the team," Turner said. "His work with routing software has greatly improved how we run bus routes. He continues to hone his skill daily with input to the designers of the program on ways to improve. He is also an amazing driver trainer that works with new drivers as they are getting their license. He provides ideas and training plans that help new and existing drivers improve and succeed in their professions. As well as working tirelessly every year at registration and back to school nights to make sure that every student that requires a ride to school is assigned to a bus and ready to start school. When he is not in the office, he is on a bus with our students providing transportation to and from school as well as on many trips. He truly loves his job, and it shows in his work and on the faces of the students that ride his bus. He is definitely a champion for our students."
