CCMS Science Bowl Team Wins Regionals, Advances to Nationals in Washington, D.C.
Calloway County Middle School's Science Bowl team were the regional champions after competing against 17 teams from two states at the regional competition on February 13th, sponsored by the United States Department of Energy.
The regional win qualifies the Lakers to represent Kentucky to compete in the National Science Bowl, held in Washington D.C. beginning on April 30th against winning regional teams from around the country. This is the tenth time the Lakers have qualified for the national tournament.
The students participated in a quick recall formatted competition containing advanced questions in the areas of science and mathematics. The Lakers went undefeated throughout the tournament on their way to the title.
