Jacob Falwell Wins KAAE Outstanding Agriculture Educator Award

Calloway County High School teacher Dr. Jacob Falwell has been named the recipient of the prestigious Kentucky Association of Agricultural Educators (KAAE) Outstanding Agriculture Educator Award. Falwell received his award at the Kentucky FFA Convention in Lexington on June 24th.
In addition to this remarkable achievement, Dr. Falwell will represent Kentucky in the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) Region 4 contest. This opportunity allows him to showcase his exemplary teaching practices and compete with other top educators from across the region.
Falwell is both excited and grateful for this prestigious award.
"I'm excited for the honor and am appreciative of all the kind words that have come my way and towards our program," he said. "I've been very fortunate to have great family support, administrative support, co-workers at CCHS, and to work alongside excellent agriculture teachers in Bill Sampson, Cassie Miller, and Cassidy McAllister. The program at CCHS was strong before I got here 23 years ago due to that support. I had the privilege of learning from Mr. Larry Gilbert and Mr. Jamie Potts and hope that we can keep this program growing for another 65 years. This community supports the program tremendously well with financial support, but more importantly the time they invest to help our students experience agriculture, learn leadership skills, and encourage entrepreneurship in our youth.
"The students have made this job so enjoyable. At this stage in my career, I am getting to see former students excelling with their own families, careers, and interests. That is very rewarding!"
National awards will be announced in August and will be presented at the national conference in December in Nashville.
