CCHS Teacher Jacob Falwell Wins Purchase Region "Golden Owl" Award

Calloway County High School agriculture teacher Jacob Falwell has received the Purchase Region Golden Owl Award. The award recognizes Kentucky ag educators for their tremendous contributions in preparing the next generation of young people for successful careers in ag. The award is presented by Nationwide, the Kentucky FFA Foundation, and the Kentucky Association of Agricultural Educators.
In the award’s first year, the Golden Owl Award recognized outstanding ag educators in 2 states: Iowa and Ohio. Now, seven years later, this award recognizes an Ag Educator of the Year in 13 states. This is Kentucky’s first year being a Golden Owl Partner.
Falwell is now a finalist for Kentucky Agriculture Educator of the Year, awarded at the Kentucky FFA State Convention in June. Finalists in each state receive $500 and a plaque. The state winner receives an additional $3,000 and the coveted Ag Educator of the Year trophy.
