CCHS Senior Tommy Gomez is the October Rotary Student of the Month

Calloway County High School senior Tommy Gomez has been named the October Student of the Month by the Rotary Club of Murray.
Gomez is a distinguished academic at CCHS and is on track to graduate in May as a valedictorian with a 4.0 grade point average. He also achieved a 34 composite score on The ACT Test. He has won academic awards in Honors Biology, Honors Algebra 2, Honors Science, Honors Chemistry, Chemistry 105, and CIV 201. He is also a graduate of Murray State’s Commonwealth Honors Academy. At CCHS, Gomez has excelled in accelerated classes and will graduate from CCHS with college credit in ten dual credit classes.
Outside the classroom, Gomez has excelled in cross country and track and field. In track, he was named to the All Region Team in 2025 and has earned team awards for his effort and commitment. In cross country, he was named to the 2024 All Region Team and is a Bluegrass Running Camp graduate.
Gomez’s success extends past the athletic arena. He is also an active member of the school’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter, the National Honor Society, and Lakers for Christ. In the community, he volunteers at Soup for the Soul and is a member of First United Methodist Church.
After high school, Gomez plans to attend Murray State to pursue a degree in Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Tommy is the son of Katherine and Miguel Gomez.
