CCHS Senior Sam Rudy Named March Rotary Student of the Month

Calloway County High School senior Sam Rudy has been named the March Student of the Month by the Rotary Club of Murray.

Rudy holds a perfect 4.0 grade point average and is on track to be a valedictorian upon graduation in May. Rudy also scored a 30 composite score on The ACT Test. He has been named Student of the Month at CCHS twice during his time there, in addition to this Rotary honor.

Rudy is a standout student in the CCHS Laker Band. This year, he was recommended for KMEA All-State Band and has been selected for All-District Band three times. He plays numerous instruments, including the bass guitar for a praise band at his church.

Outside the classroom, Rudy is an active member of the school’s National Honor Society and Educators Rising. He is also a member of this year’s Leadership Tomorrow class. He has also been a member of the school’s chess team. He also works part time at both Dairy Queen and Sweet Dots.

After high school, Rudy plans to attend Murray State to major in music education to become a school band director. 

Sam is the son of Jeff and Carrie Rudy.
