CCHS Senior Jese Solis Receives Silent Servant Award from Peter R. Marsh Foundation

Calloway County High School senior Jese Solis has received the Silent Servant Scholarship Award from the Peter R. Marsh Foundation. She accepted her award during a small ceremony at the Murray-Calloway County Area Technology Center on December 12th. She was nominated for the award by ATC culinary chef Kathleen Holman.

The award honors outstanding public high school students who demonstrate selfless, voluntary service rooted in empathy and compassion. Designed to be presented in a “teachable moment,” the award includes a custom‑engraved plaque and a $595 scholarship—no strings attached—to acknowledge students whose public service activities benefit their communities without expectation of recognition or reward. The award is intended to inspire peers and reinforce empathy as a learned behavior, positioning recipients as role models and future community leaders. Roughly 350 high school students in the nation receive this annual award.

At CCHS, Solis has earned a 3.51 grade point average through her junior year. As a senior, she is enrolled in a dual credit class, COM 161, and a manufacturing engineering class.

Outside the classroom, Solis is a member of the Education Rising chapter, Spanish Club, and Interact Club. In the community, Solis is a member of Calloway County Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention and is a member of the student council at the Calloway County Public Library.

After high school, Solis plans to attend Murray State University and is undecided on career choice but is interested in becoming a pediatric nurse or a librarian. She is the daughter of Mabel Duffy.
