CCHS Senior Eli Finley Named February Rotary Student of the Month

Calloway County High School senior Eli Finley has been named the February Student of the Month by the Rotary Club of Murray.

Finley has achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average at CCHS and is on track to be a valedictorian in May. He also earned a 32 composite score on The ACT Test.  During high school, he has been named Most Outstanding Student in Honors English 1 and Honors English 2. He is a 3-time recipient of the Academic All-State Basketball Award. He is on track to complete a business pathway and is certified in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Upon graduation, he will have earned college credit in four dual credit classes.

Outside the classroom, Finley is a standout on the CCHS basketball team. He is the school’s all-time leading scorer and led the Lakers to the 2A State Championship as a senior. He is currently the Senior Class Reporter for the Student Council, the Head of Attendance Chair for FBLA, a selected member of Leadership Tomorrow, a member of Lakers for Christ, and a member of the Pep Club.

Finley has spent time volunteering in the community with his church, FBLA, and REAL little league basketball.

After high school, Finley is undecided of which college he will attend, but plans to play college basketball in addition to furthering his education. He hopes to attend graduate school to one day become an attorney in Kentucky.

Eli is the son of John and Jennifer Finley.
