CCHS Junior Emily Wade Selected for WKRECC Youth Tour to Washington D.C.

Calloway County High School junior Emily Wade has been selected by West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative to represent the region in Washington, D.C. this June as a part of the Youth Tour leadership program.

An all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. is awarded each June to two students from the West Kentucky RECC service area. The week-long trip gives Kentucky’s next generation of leaders the chance to meet with congressional representatives and participate in civic engagement activities with students from across the country.

Wade will be in Washington, D.C. June 15-20 with Payton Hayden from Graves County High School. 

Wade is a stellar academic at CCHS with a 4.0 grade point average. She is in the FBLA and Beta Club and runs track and cross country. She volunteers at Hardin Baptist in the youth group and works part time at Cheri Theaters in Murray.

After high school, Wade hopes to attend Western Kentucky University to major in accounting. She is the daughter of Sarah Parker and Jameson Wade.
