CCHS Girls' Track Wins KHSAA 2A Region for Sixth Straight Year, Heads to Lexington for State Championship Meet

Calloway County High School's Girls' Track and Field team won their sixth straight KHSAA 2A Region 1 Championship on May 12th at CCHS. The Lady Lakers scored 218 points total with Hopkinsville in second with 89. Paducah Tilghman finished third with 61 points.

The team now moves on to compete for a state title at the KHSAA 2A State Championship meet in Lexington at the University of Kentucky on May 22nd.

Multiple students also won individual regional championships. Layla Green finished first in the 100m Hurdles, High Jump, and Long Jump. Hayden Loveless placed first in the 100m Dash and 200m Dash. Jaidan Koch won the 1600m run and 800m run. Keatyn Tynes took first in the Shot Put, and Brylee Barrow won the Discus Throw. Jillian Stovall placed first in the Pole Vault. 

Numerous relay teams also took home regional championships, including the 4x200m team, the 4x100m team, and the 4x400m team.
