CCHS Girls' Track Finishes 2nd Overall in KHSAA State Track and Field Championships

Calloway County High School's girls' track team finished second overall as a team in the KHSAA Class 2A State Outdoor Track and Field Championships held on May 30th in Lexington.
The Lady Lakers scored 75 points combined as a team finishing behind state champion Lexington Catholic with 88.
The 4x100m team of Marciyah Mays, Lexi McClure, Layla Green, and Hayden Loveless earned a state championship in their event.
Numerous Lady Lakers contributed to the point total in the state meet. The 4x200 team of Mays, McClure, Loveless, and Ann Marie Arnett finished second overall. Arnett also finished second in the triple jump, earning First Team All State Honors.
Green finished third in the high jump and fourth in 300 Hurdles. Jaiden Koch earned 3rd in the 800m run and 4th in the 1600m run with a school record time. Brylee Barrow finished fourth in Discus and fifth in Shotput.
Other point earners were Emma Martin, Jillian Stovall, Arnett, Loveless, and the 4x400 relay team of Brooklyn Smith, Angie Emery, McClure, and Koch.
On the boys' side, Ashton Robinson finished 5th in the 800m run and Buxton Harrison placed fifth in Pole Vault.
