CCHS FFA Wins Multiple Purchase Region Championships at MSU

Calloway County High School's chapter of the Future Farmers of America won numerous regional championships and awards at the Purchase Region FFA Day at Murray State University on March 27th.

The CCHS FFA chapter has won more individual and team championships than any school in the Purchase Region this year.

The regional champions in team and individual events will move on to compete at the state convention in Lexington in June.

The Parliamentary Procedure Team were named regional champions with team members Addison Pervine, Kelsey Spears, Fulton Manning, Jaylee McLeod, Jayden Phillips, Ellie Falwell, Cooper Housden, and Jacee McKeel.  

The Record Keeping Team were also regional champions with team members Emylee Thompson, Albert Parr, Serenity Byrley, and Hanna Crouch. This is the first time CCHS has won this regional contest since the 1980s.

Individual champions include Kelsey Spears in "Fruit and Vegetable Public Speaking," Gabby Yocum in "Ag Mechanics Public Speaking," Ella Martin in "Freshman FFA Quiz," and Elijah Rudolph in "Beef Bowl."

Senior Jacee McKeel was named the 2025 Purchase Region Star in Production - the highest award a region can bestow upon a member.  She will also compete at the State Convention this summer for Kentucky State Star in Production. McKeel is also the current FFA regional president and presided over the evening banquet at the CFSB Center.

Junior Abby Hathcock was installed as the Regional Secretary for the 2025-2026 school year.

Runner-up students in certain areas also advance to the state convention this summer.  Runner-ups include Ashton Robinson in "Small Animal Public Speaking," Abby Hathcock in "Dairy Public Speaking," Cooper Housden in "Crop Public Speaking," and the "Conduct of Meetings" team consisting of Aubrey Coles, Hanna Crouch, Jadyn Stark, Ava Moore, Layla Moore, Lila Fulton, and Evan Falwell.

The Quiz Bowl Team were also named regional runners-up.  Team members were Addison Pervine, Jaylee McLeod, Aubrey Naber, and Elijah Rudolph.

Other competitors for the day included:  Ella Burkeen in Beef Public Speaking, Ellie Falwell in AIC and Regional Finalist for Star in Agribusiness, Lila Fulton in FFA Creed, Faith Jones in Dairy Public Speaking, Jacee McKeel in Poultry Public Speaking, Quinlyn  Moore in Swine Public Speaking, Bella Norsworthy in Floral Public Speaking, Addison Pervine in Horse Public Speaking, JJ Phillips in Prepared Public Speaking, and Emma Van Rooy in Goat/Sheep Public Speaking.
