CCHS Academic Team Qualifies for KAAC State Finals, Finishes Second in Region

Calloway County High School's academic team has qualified for the KAAC Governor's Cup State Finals after finishing second overall in the regional competition on February 24th at McCracken County High School in Paducah. The Lakers finished with 41 points total, just one point behind regional champion McCracken County.
The Quick Recall team, the Future Problem Solving Team, and numerous individuals have qualified for the KAAC State Finals held at The Galt House in Louisville March 14th-17th.
The Quick Recall team was named regional champions after going undefeated in their four rounds of competition. The Laker Quick Recall team is led by captain Nathaniel Fowler, Aubrey Naber, Connor Pile, Amber Wu, Sean Williams, Kaylee Tharp, Jack Williams, Ezra Foote, Levi Dunnaway, Maya Munoz, Max Chapman, and Aiden Hooper.
The Future Problem Solving team of Brooklyn Swatzell, Aubrey Naber, Vayla Carlisle, and Madison Morris earned second place for their booklet on Agricultural Industry.
In Arts and Humanities, Maya Munoz finished second and Nathaniel Fowler placed third.
In Language Arts, Aubrey Naber placed third and Kaylee Tharp finished fifth.
In Math, Amber Wu placed first and Sean Williams took fifth.
In Composition, Vayla Carlisle finished third, and in Science, Aiden Hooper placed fifth.
In Social Studies, Ezra Foote placed second and Nathaniel Fowler took third.
The Lakers are coached by Erica Gray, Lane Springer, Cassidy McAllister, Margaret Richter, Dan Thompson, and Jayden Morris.
