Teala Osborne is the November Laker Champion for Kids

Calloway County Schools has named Teala Osborne the November Laker Champion for Kids. Osborne is a math teacher at the Calloway County Alternative Instructional Facility.
The Laker Champion for Kids is awarded each month to a Laker staff member who goes above and beyond for students and colleagues.
Osborne was nominated for the award by CCAIF principal Travis Anderson.
“She has worked at our school for 8 years and during that time has grown immensely as a teacher-leader in the building," wrote Anderson. "She is an outstanding teacher with a heart for serving our at-risk students. She is quick to volunteer, accepts extra duty responsibilities as the need arises, serves students and their families on her own time, advocates for our alternative programs within the community, and leads out in every way when it comes to serving her colleagues. I am thankful to have her as a teacher at the AIF and know she will be continue to be a great leader in the years to come. She is a rockstar and this recognition would be well-deserved.”
Osborne also works closely with Heather Bell, a colleague at CCAIF.
"Her dedication to her students goes far beyond the classroom," said Bell. "She truly cares about each individual’s growth—both academically and personally—which makes her a true champion. Teala takes the time to understand each student and consistently goes the extra mile to ensure every student succeeds. Whether she’s helping a student one-on-one, offering words of encouragement, or finding creative ways to make math lessons engaging, her commitment to seeing beyond the surface is unwavering. In short, she is not just a great teacher—she is a mentor, friend, role model, the district’s greatest prankster, and a constant source of encouragement. Her impact on her students is lasting, and her passion for education is truly admirable.”
