Calloway County Schools applied for a waiver which would allow the use of non-traditional school days (NTI days) this school year. Non-traditional school days are days in which students do not attend school, but complete work at home. These NTI days are not required to be made up at the end of the school year. Non-traditional school days will be used as Calloway County Schools need to miss any days for sickness.
You are receiving this letter because your child has an Individual Education Program (IEP,) and the services listed on the IEP will not be implemented as written on these days. Your child’s special education teacher will modify your child’s NTI day work and will provide guidance on specially designed instruction that can be provided to meet your child’s individual needs. You child’s special education teachers will contact you by phone or email to provide assistance and answer any questions you or your child may have on NTI days. If you child receives any related services personnel will also provide strategies for you to use with your child on the NTI days to continue to work on needed skills.
If you have any questions about the non-traditional school days please contact your child’s special education teacher or building principal.
