Welcome to our classroom!
Why Training for Life?
Cause we are way more than a FMD, Moderate Severe Needs, or Severe Needs class! We take the school day by the horns and squeeze every drip out of it that we can! We are TRAINING FOR LIFE after high school!
Essentially, we have two focus areas....Academics and Career Readiness.
We take care of the academics by having a daily Math and English class (and Science and Social Studies as needed by grades of students) based on alternate assessment standards and stuff we need to know.
We take care of the career readiness by our Career Work Experience courses (this year Seniors are in their Workplace Principles class) and Community Based Instruction. With Career Work Experience courses, we learn how to work and do this by finding and working at jobs in our building, campus, and community. As a class we participate in daily Community Based Instruction trips to develop and practice skills we will need for life after high school.
