Calloway County High School senior Tyler Duncan has been named the March Rotary Student of the Month at the Murray/Calloway Co. Area Technology Center.
Duncan is a Culinary Arts student who has taken classes at the ATC for all 4 years of high school. He is currently one of the Executive Chefs for the pop-up restaurant at the ATC next month, a project he has helped design for 2 years.
"His management and leadership skills have grown through the four years in class and has proven to be a student that I can always rely on," said Culinary Arts teacher Kathleen Holman. "He is always on task, highly skilled in the kitchen, and fun to work with. Tyler’s peers respect him in the class and look to him for help in the kitchen."
Duncan came in first place in the Regional Skills USA competition this year. He also works at Culver's as a shift leader.
Duncan is undecided on his post-graduation plans, but is considering going to Murray State, West KY Tech in Paducah, or joining the Navy. He plans on studying either culinary arts or law and justice. Tyler is the son of Jennifer Johnson and Robert Duncan.
