CCHS senior Laken McDaniel has been named the Murray Rotary Club December Student of the Month.
McDaniel is on track to be a Valedictorian for the 2022 graduating class with a 4.0 GPA and a score of 30 on the ACT. This past summer, she graduated from the Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program at Bellarmine University.
She serves as the Treasurer for the CCHS Future Business Leaders of America chapter, as well as captain of Future Problem Solving on the academic team. She has competed at the regional, state, and international levels in various activities throughout high school. In Future Problem Solving, she received 1st place in the individual competition at the state level, and her team broke finals with 16th in the world at the Future Problem Solving International Conference. She has been a state competitor and regional champion in Marketing with FBLA.
She is also involved in the Murray/Calloway Leadership Tomorrow Program, the Yearbook Staff, and Unified Champion Schools program, and is a Green Dot Ambassador. She was also awarded Most Outstanding in Honors English II, Marketing, and Geometry by her teachers. Additionally, she holds a part-time job at Dairy Queen.
After high school, McDaniel undecided on college choice, but plans to pursue a career in Marketing or Nonprofit Leadership. She is the daughter of Jamison and Tammy McDaniel and a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.
