Morris Selected Murray Bank Student of the Week


Jayden Morris, a senior at Calloway County High School, was selected as The Murray Bank Student of the Week. Mr. Morris has a 4.0 grade point average, is on track to be a Valedictorian for the 2022 graduating class, and scored a 31 on the ACT.

Jayden is a member of the academic team where he competes in Social Studies, Science, Science Bowl, and serves as the captain of the Quick Recall team. He is also involved in the tennis team, FFA, Future Business Leaders of America, BETA Club, Chemistry Team, and the Spanish Club.

Mr. Morris has excelled at district, regional, state, and national levels. In academic team, Jayden has been 1st in the district in Social Studies, 2nd in the region in Quick Recall with his team, 5th in the state in Quick Recall with his CCMS team, 2nd in the state at the National Geographic Geography Bee, and 5th in the nation in geography at the National History Bee. In Future Business Leaders of America, Jayden and his team placed 1st in the region and 2nd in the state in International Business. In FFA, he has placed 2nd in the state at the University of Kentucky Citizenship Bee and 8th in the state with his team in meat judging at the 2021 Kentucky State Fair.

Jayden is a 2021 graduate of the Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program at Centre College in Danville. He is also a Commonwealth Honors Academy recipient for Murray State University. He has been named an outstanding student in Spanish I, Spanish II, Integrated Social Studies, Honors World History, Honors U.S. History, Earth and Space Science, Zoology, Accelerated Pre-Calculus, Honors English III, Digital Literacy, and Multimedia Publishing.

His community service work includes volunteering at the Woodlands Nature Station, the Calloway County Middle School academic team, Vacation Bible School, and various opportunities through Future Business Leaders of America and BETA Club.

Jayden is the son of Johnny and Cathy Morris. He is a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church. Jayden is currently undecided on where he plans to attend college.
