Congratulations to these six juniors for recently being named to the Kentucky Governor's Scholar Program this summer. Calloway County High School and board office staff enjoyed breakfast during National School Breakfast Week.  Thank you food service staff for a wonderful breakfast! School breakfast at the high school.  National School Breakfast Week was celebrated at all schools recently. Cafeteria staff at the high served up a terrific breakfast recently for National School Breakfast Week.  Thank you to all of our food service personnel for all of the hard work you do. CCMS recently sent a delegation to the state KUNA Convention and won Outstanding Global Village, was named a Delegation of Excellence, and was Honorable Mention for Cultural Attire. The Calloway County Middle School Speech Team defended their Regional Championship title this weekend, claiming their 14th consecutive Murray Region Title.  After a great day of competition on Feb. 4th among 17 schools in the first region, the CCMS Academic Team was named regional champions for the fourth consecutive year and the eighth time in the past nine years.  The CCHS Academic Team took home $1000 in scholarship dollars and the 2nd place title at the West Kentucky Academic Bowl Regional Tournament on Friday, February 3, 2017 at WKCTC. Life size battleship between of all the various groups at North using water sponges! Ms. Hendley with the purple parrots! Southwest Student Council Mr. Davenport--whip cream doesn't hurt--that bad! Ms. Allen got "pied" too! Mr. McKeel was pied in the face and wore a tutu due to the students meeting his challenge of bringing in over 4,000 cans of sweet peas for Needline.  The final can total was 6,438. Ms. Hooper got in on the fun too! Career and Technical Education Success
ATC Principal Dan Hicks reported that Calloway County High School students A.J. Pitsenbarger and Anthony Karesak had tremendous success in the recnt statewide Career and Technical Education competitions held in Louisville, KY. Pitsenbarger placed thrid in the state in the category of Culinary Arts. Anthony Karesak finshed second in the state competition in welding sculpture. Infinite Campus Migration Project Complete - Action Required to Resume Access Infinite Campus
CCSD has successfully completed the migration of the IC database to ‘the cloud’. This is part of a state-wide project coordinated by KDE.
Reading Recovery at Southwest Highlighted Recently
Reading Recovery is a reading program used at all of our elementary schools. One success story was recently highlighted in a national publication about a student from Southwest!
